Initial Import Manager

Staffing Data Notifications
The following
email notification settings are used when importing work code legacy
data, such as the import-legacy-sample.csv file
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Staffing Data Import Email Address | The Email address to send the notification messages. |
Notify on Success | Sends an email upon a successful staffing data import. |
Success Email Subject | The email subject line for a successful staffing data import. |
Notify on failure | Sends an email if the staffing data import fails. |
Failure Email Subject | The subject line for the staffing data import if failure occurs. |

The following are
import settings to further control the outcome of the staffing data
import, such as the import-legacy-sample.csv file
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Use Test Mode | Enables test mode. Organization hierarchy, jobs, specialties, and so on are checked for validity, but no actions are performed. Not selected by default. |
Insert All New Records | Inserts a new staffing entry for each row regardless if one previously exists. Selected by default. |
Update existing record if a match exists | Updates an existing staffing entry for each row. Selected by default. |
Target Active Profile | Utilizes the profile setting for the active profile for the record day. Selected by default. |
Import Nothing Upon Error | Requires that all rows are imported or the entire import is rolled back. Clear the check box to continue with the import when individual rows fail. It is recommended that Import Nothing Upon Error is checked so that the import does not occur if some or all of the data is incorrect. Selected by default. |
Insert Record on Accept | Whether or not to insert a staffing record if a list is provided and the outcome is ACCEPT. Selected by default. |
Roster Data Settings
The Roster Data Settings
area is used by the UKG team to support primarily
Review the Roster Export fields topic to determine the export that contains the desired fields for your export. For example, the Roster 11 export contains extensive staffing record fields, such as the Account, Note, and Detail Code fields.
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Initial Import Work Code(s) | Limits the work codes in the roster export file for import. This means, if the roster export picked up an Overtime, a Sick, and a Vacation code, and only Vacation is selected in the menu, then only the Vacation code will be imported. Recommended. |
Initial Import Key Type | Identifies a person in the database. Options are: Payroll ID or Employee ID. Required. |
People Data Notifications

Is Lenient | Allows organizational entities in different hierarchies to have the same abbreviation. i.e. STATION 1 and 2 can both have a UNIT with the same abbreviation label. |
Create Setup records | Allows the insertion of new items into Setup (organizational hierarchy, jobs, specialties, etc.). |
Update Setup records | Allows the modification of Setup items (organizational hierarchy, jobs, specialties, etc.). |
Import Nothing Upon Error | Requires that all rows are imported or the entire import is rolled back. Uncheck to continue import when individual rows fail. |
Create new person record | Allows the addition of new users. |
Update person record | Allows the modification of current users. |
Create Profiles | Allows the addition of a new profile for users. |
Update Profiles | Allows the modification of a current profile for users. |
Create Assignments | Allows the modification of a current profile for users. Select to allow the addition of a new assignment for users. |
Limit to one Assignment per Position/Job | Allows each position/job to be assigned to only one assignment. |
Handling of existing Assignment | Defines how to handle existing assignments during new assignment processing. Choices are: Ignore, Delete, Expire, |
Link Shifts to Positions/Jobs | Automatically applies the Shift associated with the assignment to the Position in Setup. |
Target Date for Profiles | Dynamic date value to use as the target when searching for the current profile for updating. Default Example: TODAY |
Remove from People Data
The following are import settings to control which specialties, groups, or can act as attributes are removed when updating profiles via the import manager.
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Specialties | The selected specialties will be removed during profile update. Unselected specialties will remain. |
All Groups | The selected groups will be removed during profile update. Unselected groups will remain. |
All Can Act As | The selected can act as will be removed during profile update. Unselected can act as will remain. |
Skills and Certifications

using the import-skills-and-certs-sample.csv file
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
