About Work Codes

Work codes are used to staff personnel and solve payroll needs.

Work codes are similar to payroll codes but expanded to cover staffing processes that are not payroll related, such as shift trades, reasons for overtime, comp time earned.

For instance, payroll personnel may require one overtime payroll account code to denote a distinct pay rate whereas management personnel may need the reason for overtime such as training, late call, report writing, mandatory, holdover, and so on.

Dimensions Pay Codes

Customers using map pay codes to the payroll code field of a work code in this application. Payroll code validation status messages are available on the Work Codes list page in the Payroll Code column located in the Setup area for Dimensions integrations.1 These messages are used to spot configuration issues and/or locate Dimensions payroll code changes that are not properly applied in this application. Message Description
Not Included Displays when the payroll code field in the work code maps to a pay code in Dimensions, but the Include in Integration check box in this application is not checked. In this case, the work codes may appear to be configured, but will not sync to the Dimensions Schedules so the employee’s time may not be properly accounted for.

Error Message: Include in Integration is not checked. Schedule data will not be synchronized with Dimensions.

Not Matching Code Displays when the Include in Integration check box is checked in this application, but the Payroll Code in this application does not map to or exist as a Pay Code in Dimensions.

Error Message: No matching Dimensions Pay Code.
Not Available Displays when the Include in Integration check box is checked but this application can’t receive a response from the Dimensions API call. Not Available displays for any work code that has both - Include in Integration checked, and has a Payroll Code defined.

Error Message: Unable to fetch Pay Code from Dimensions. See activity log for more details.
