Shift Breaks
Shift breaks are used for reporting purposes only. A break time deduction occurs after working x number of hours. The deduction in time displays in reports - not the Roster.
A time value is set in shifts to subtract x amount of hours if x amount of time has elapsed.
For example, an employee has a shift assignment that starts at 7a.m. and runs for 9 hours with a one hour lunch break for a total of 8 hours of work. The shift break is set to deduct 1 hour if working at least 4 hours.
Shift Break Output:
- If the employee enters sick time for the entire day; the sick bank decreases by 8 hours.
- If the employee worked 4 hours and went home sick for the remaining time; the sick bank decreases by 4 hours because the employee left after working 4 hours.
- If the employee worked 3 hours and went home sick for the remaining time; the sick bank decreases by 5 hours because the sick code is greater than the 4 hours worked.
