Generate Auction Items

Prerequisites:
Auction: This task requires an Auction to be in place. If you do not have an Auction see Configure a New Auction topic.
Formula ID: Required for a work code type auction. Optional, for a Position or Roster auction.

To configure a new auction:

  1. Go to Setup > Bidding > Auction
  2. Click the applicable Auction to open the Auction screen.
  3. Go to the left pane of the Auction, and click Add > Generate items...

  4. The Generate Items screen shows only the required fields for the selected award type in the Generate Item Award Type menu-box. If desired, select additional properties using the Include Additional Properties menu box.

  5. In Generate Items, select the type of award. A red asterisk next to the field name indicates a required field. Choices are:
    • Work Code

    • Position

    • Roster

  6. Configure the field requirements as desired. TIP: Use a short span of days in From and Through to test your first Auction; for example, 90 days.
  7. Click Save to confirm your settings. The auction will generate a list of auction items encompassing the date range indicated in the From and Through fields.
  8. To apply a Formula ID to the auction items, select one Auction Item then Select all or Select same level.
  9. Step Section:

  10. Click Save to resolve the Formula IDs. The auction items show the new name.

Create the Bidding Plan and assign this Auction to the Bidding Plan. See Configure a Basic Bidding Plan topic for additional information.
