Email Reports Task Type Example

This task requires System Access to the Task Manager in the System area in Setup. SMTP must be configured.

Use the Email Report task type to email system reports to a person, or a group of people using a group email address. This task allows you define and save data specific reports, such as an Overtime report for the past 180 days, a Cost report for Area 1 Swing Shift, or a one-time Shift Trade Report created today for some date range in the past to be delivered at a future date.

Note: Only checked records display in reports.
  1. Go to the Task Manager in the System area in Setup to create a new task.
  2. Click Add
  3. Enter a name for this job in the General tab.
  4. Leave the remaining and default settings as is.
  5. Click the Task tab to create a task.
  6. Enter a name for this task in the Task tab. Generally, the same name provided in the General tab is used here.
  7. Select Email Report from the Task Type drop-down.
  8. Type a file name for this report in File name.
  9. Type the recipient’s email address in Email Address.
  10. In Report Parameters, click on the icon (far-right) to launch the Build Report module.
  11. Select the desired report on the Build Report screen.
  12. In Date Selection, choose Calendar Dates or Dynamic Dates. For example, a dynamic date of From* TODAY-15daysand Through* TODAY-1DAY will dynamically populate the date parameters of this report for the last fourteen days, excluding today upon run.
  13. Configure the remaining fields as needed. Use Limit By filters to obtain specific data in your report. Be sure to review the items listed in the Limits panel before you save the Report.
  14. Click Save.
