Post Event Vacancies on the Dashboard

Vacancy flags must be enabled to post vacancies on the Dashboard. Extra-Duty Events introduced in application version 7.4 display vacancy flags with a position link that is unique to Extra-Duty Events.1 The position link opens the Event Details panel with Extra Duty Event information.

The vacancy flag setting is available in the Event Type template in Setup, in Edit without Rules..., and the Extra-Duty Events add-on module.

To turn Vacancy Flags on using an Event Type template:

  1. Click Event Type
  2. Select Calendar in the Vacancy Flags drop-down.
  3. Configure the remaining fields as desired.
  4. Click Save.

Vacancy Flags will appear on the Dashboard, and the Calendar when units are deployed using this Event Type template.

Post Vacancy Flags via Edit Without Rules

This task requires authority permission Roster: Edit Advanced.

Edit Without Rules displays vacancy flag settings that allow users to add, edit, or remove vacancy flags. A vacancy that is not linked to an event type template may be posted on the Dashboard, and the personal Calendar. However, doing so disables any Roster Alarms associated with that vacancy’s position.

To enable vacancy flags using Edit Without Rules on the Roster:

  1. Click on the desired vacancy.
  2. Click Edit Without Rules.
  3. Expand the Advanced panel.
  4. Select Calendar in the Vacancy Flags drop-down.
