The Multi-Day Schedule by default includes all working and regular duty type records and will automatically contribute to Totals and Headcounts. The default behavior can be optionally redefined in to allow each institution to define their own work code limits and contributions. Both Setup: Organization and Multi-Day View: Manage authority are required to define work code contributions for an Institution.
Application Behavior: Managing exceptions and shuffling people between shifts and working areas to level personnel for the day, the week, or by section on the Multi-Day Schedule is much more user-friendly to carry out using a horizontal weekly grid page layout rather than on the Staffing board; or the vertical single-day Roster view. The difference between the Multi-Day view and the Roster is the data call (information pull), and the calculation requirements to build the Roster view. The Roster is position based; this means that upon build, the Roster evaluates positions and connected features 1 within this application when returning assignment data and staffing records for a single day. Depending on the application’s configuration this process could take some time to build when multiple days are called for. The Multi-Day view has a smoother draw time because the target information is person-centric, the application pulls information from the person’s assignment tab and the staffing records (work codes), hence less data processing and number crunching.
In application version 7.5 person assigned specialties were enhanced to display on the active date of the specialty and withdraw after the expiration date, if any. The term specialties as used here encompasses legacy specialties, skills, and certifications. On the Multi-Day view the person’s specialty displays if the specialty is active on the first day of the week. This means if the specialty’s start date activates on a Friday, and the start of the week of the Multi-Day starts on a Sunday, then the specialty does not display next to the person’s name for this week. However, suppose the start of the week is set to Friday, then the specialty displays for this week.
