IMPORTANT |
---|
Disabling any area in the organizational structure will immediately remove that area from view; this includes the Roster, the People Filter, and the person Assignment tab. As such, it is very important to implement best practices when disabling areas in the organizational structure. Also see: About Disable Units for a Day topic if disabling units for a single day at a time (not permanently) is the desired outcome. |
To retire an area located in the organizational structure use the Through field provided in the Active When panel. Doing so will remove the area from the Roster view when the date entered in the Through field has transpired; however doing so does not disable the area, additional steps must be taken to disable an area permanently.
WARNING |
---|
Before disabling an area in the organizational structure be sure no future fixed or finalized records exist in the area you intend to disable. To verify run the Exceptions Report and remove invalid future records prior to disabling any area in the organizational structure. |
To disable the area, return to the organizational structure after the target Through date has expired and disable it to remove that area from the filters and menu boxes available throughout the system. Also, see About Disable Unit for a Day concept topic.
