The Institution is the highest of six levels within the organizational structure of this application.
The majority of the application database implementations identify one institution which is the name of the organization. For the standard implementation, the institution level is merely the top level of the organization.
For customers with Institution Focus enabled, using Institutions allow two or more disparate entities to reside in a single database such as Fire and Lifeguard, or Patrol and Corrections, or all mentioned. For more information see: About Institution Focus topic.
Institution focus is an add-on application feature that allows Global System Administrators to switch between Institutions and limits the visibility and access of people and staffing information to that of the logged-in user’s institution or the focused institution.
