The Roster image area below shows an area on the Roster for extended exceptions. Customers have created areas similar in concept, like Extended Leave, Light Duty, and Special Assignment to tidy the Roster and run rules at optimal levels. Additional units may be created to better fit your needs, however be careful not to clutter the Roster with too many units.
Advanced Configuration Note: When personnel affect minimum staffing levels, staffing rules will be required to backfill these vacancies. Rules that evaluate a person’s availability are robust and carry heavy processing values that may slow the Fill by Rules process. For this reason, it is best practice to move personnel with long-term or indefinite exceptions out of their regular duty assignment and avoid processing expensive fatigue rules.
