Setup Overview
The Setup area contains system configuration settings.
Important:
Limited and system trained access is highly recommended to protect system configuration, maintain your current scheduling work flow, and prevent unintentional system interruptions.
Security permission settings in Setup control visibility and access to the configuration areas in Setup.
Setup contains the following areas:
- Security- contains system access and user right settings.
- General- contains personnel settings that affect staffing rules and generally used to manage schedules and personnel profiles.
- Shifts- contains settings to create shift times and patterns.
- Logging-contains settings used to capture work opportunities in hours or instances and used to fairly distribute work opportunities.
- Codes- contains work code settings to request time off, time earned, sign up. Also, contains dynamic and static issue rules to prevent the usage of work codes or convert them to a request.
- Rules- contains business rule settings used for scheduling.
- Roster- in Setup the Roster area contains minimum count and vacancy strategy settings to control staffing levels and vacancy behaviors.
- Scheduling- contains settings to create blueprint templates, smart templates, shift splits and job allocation controls. Requires a Blueprint add-on license.
- Organizations- contains settings to create the organizational structure; for example, regions, battalions, bureaus, divisions, stations, squads, zones, areas, engines, depots, posts, floors, and so on.
- Bidding- contains settings used to manage the bidding process and award biddable items such as, vacation picks, positions, and more.
Important:
The level of configuration is determined by business need. Not all areas or fields apply to a single customer; some settings could be industry specific and may not apply.
